Ships

I love ships (another ‘special interest’). I admit I have the Marine Traffic app on my phone and love looking up what ships are nearby, where they have been, and where they are going.

I was based on the seafront in Reykjavik for 4 weeks on my last trip (May 2025), and would keep an eye out for the the ships coming and going.

Iceland also has a few wrecks on the coasts, the Garðar BA64, which is an old steel whaler, beached at the end of Patreksfjörður, and the Höfrungur (Dolphin) AK 91 at Akranes.
