I have lived in Singapore since 2018. A strange choice for someone overwhelmed by crowds, and who is more at home in a wild, empty landscape. Singapore is the polar opposite.

But there are pockets of solitude, and I love the architecture. The MRT (Mass Rapid Transit), which includes the subway that criss-crosses the island, has some really interesting stations and I spent a couple of very early Sunday morning hours traveling between stations.

Bras Basah, Bencoolen, and Esplanade are three of my favourites. Watching people bustling through these stations, looking at their phones, or focusing on hustling to get to work on time, the beauty of the design, the reflections and the starkness are completely missed. It feels like a gift that I get to see it like this.
