Other Other Birds

Grimsey | Snow Bunting [in Icelandic – Snjótittlingur or Sólskríkja (Bird that squeaks in the sun)]
Grimsey | Bedraggled Snow Bunting

Various images taken on my travels around Iceland.

I found the small thrush like bird impossible to identify, as it was too small to be a Song Thrush, being similar in size to a Wheatear or Robin.

And the Gulls could be young Glaucous Gulls or Iceland Gulls, or even a hybrid.

Settings and Approach

90 to 280 mm lens (f/2.8 to 4.0). Mostly 280mm.

Shutter Priority, with the shutter speed set to between 1/500 and 1/1000 seconds to freeze movement.

ISO set automatically or limited to ISO 400 to try and keep noise to a minimum.

Látrabjarg | Indeterminate type of Gull
Látrabjarg | Gulls
Látrabjarg | Kittiwake
Reykjavik | Artic Tern with a present; males bring fish as “gifts” to females to encourage mating.
If the male doesn’t give the gift to the female after mating, she will (quite rightly) attack him
Grimsey | Arctic Tern pair
Reykjvik | No clue what bird this is, as seems too small to be a Thrush
Grimsey | European / Golden Plover with dinner
Reykjavik | Eider Duck (male)
Iceland | Eider Duck Males (white) Mobbing a female (brown) for her attention
Reykjavik | Redshank
Grimsey | Common Snipe
